About Chris

I’m a piano technician based in Macclesfield, covering Cheshire and the rest of Great Britain.

For over thirty years I’ve tuned and repaired pianos in homes, recording studios, theatres and arenas. The job is the same everywhere: a stable tune, a decent touch, and an instrument that sounds like itself.

I hold a diploma in piano tuning, repair and restoration from the Welsh School of Musical Instrument Making and Repair, after a three-year full-time course. I was in the school’s last intake. It closed in 1991. I have also attended seminars with C. BECHSTEIN and Bösendorfer, and spent two days observing the workshop at STEINWAY & SONS in Wembley.
